Janell DeGennaro has been with Smith + Schwartzstein LLC for over three years as an of-counsel attorney.  Janell practices civil litigation, including business litigation, franchise litigation, medical malpractice litigation, products liability litigation and personal injury law. She also drafts and negotiates contracts.

Janell graduated summa cum laude from The University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law in 2002 and magna cum laude from St. Olaf College in 1998.  After law school she worked at Halstrom Law Offices, PC, in Boston, MA, doing primarily medical malpractice and products liability.  Thereafter she worked at Jack Mikels & Associates, LLC, practicing in business law, primarily litigation, but also gaining extensive experience in contract negotiations and drafting for businesses.

In her spare time, Janell volunteers in her kids’ schools, and has been on the PTO board for two schools, including service as Co-President for both. She has also been the Co-President of the Summit Area Mothers & More Chapter.
